              Frequently Asked Questions

Many of us work around printers and toner every day but really don't think about toner unless there is a problem. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about toner and brief answers to those questions.

              1. What is toner anyway?
Toner is a powdery substance made from pigment and plastic. Manufacturers use plastic because it melts as the paper is passed through the fuser to provide a sharp, lasting image on the paper.

              2. What is a compatible toner cartridge?
A compatible toner cartridge is a cartridge that will work with your model of printer but has not been made by the same manufacturer as the printer. Compatible cartridges are usually less expensive compared with branded cartridges.

              3. What is a remanufactured toner cartridge?

There are two primary methods of producing a recycled or remanufactured cartridge.
3.1. Drill and Fill – Here a hole is drilled into the toner hopper and then new toner is added. Finally the hole is sealed and the cartridge is ready to be sold.
3.2. Remanufacture – Here the cartridge is disassembled and cleaned. The various components are inspected and worn or damaged parts are replaced. The cartridge is then reassembled and filled with new toner. Finally, each remanufactured cartridge is tested to assure it is functioning like new.  For optimal performance and highest quality, the remanufactured cartridge is the best choice. Any defective or worn components that are replaced are subsequently recycled and the consumer receives a quality product from which they can expect OEM-like performance.

              4. Why Remanufactured Toner Cartridges?
Tinta-Han Ni Juan is interested in protecting the environment. It therefore gives us great pleasure to be able to offer you remanufactured toner cartridges for Canon, Epson, HP, and Lexmark laser printers.  By purchasing a remanufactured toner cartridge for your printer, you protect the environment of our planet by eliminating pollution from the long-lasting, almost non-decaying materials from which plastic toner cartridges are made. These materials are also quite toxic for the other inhabitants of our ecosystem. The humanity has already polluted this planet enough. Why not do what we can to stop it from doing further?
Remanufactured toner cartridges for copier, fax and laser printer are also much cheaper, then their analogs made by known manufacturers. By purchasing a remanufactured toner cartridge for your copier, fax or laser printer, you do not have to pay extra for the label "Hewlett Packard", "Canon", "Epson", "Lexmark", or any known brands!

              5. What are the benefits of remanufactured cartridges?
              • Resource Conservation

A typical used toner cartridge consists of 40% plastic and 40% metal with the remaining 20% made up of foam, rubber, paper, and left over toner. Approximately 97% of this material is reused in a remanufactured cartridge.

              • Energy Conservation

The energy equivalent of 3 quarts of oil is consumed in the manufacturing of a new cartridge. While there is energy consumed in the transportation of empty cartridges, it is far less than what is used to make a new cartridge.

              • Cost Savings

Remanufactured cartridges are less costly than newly manufactured cartridges, offering a savings to consumers of up to 50% less than the cost of new. Printer manufacturers are known to charge very high prices for new cartridges. They make a lot of money on these “consumables”.

              • Reduce Land Fill Needs
Every time a cartridge is remanufactured or recycled (after the cartridge is beyond useful life for remanufacturing) there is a reduction in the demand for land fill space. The plastic in a toner cartridge takes at least 1,000 years to decompose.

              6. Do compatible or remanufactured toner cartridges perform as well as OEMs?
Yes they do. Remanufactured toner cartridges perform as well as the OEM brand name cartridges. The yield is the same as the OEM cartridges ( plus or minus 5%).

              7. Will a remanufactured toner cartridge void my warranty?
No. If you have a service contract with the manufacturer, using non-original toner cartridges might void the service contract but it will not void your printer's warranty.
